What counts as a loan here

Loans covers personal loans, auto loans, mortgages, student loans, and any other fixed-term debt — anything with a defined original amount and a payoff schedule. Credit cards are managed separately (see Credit Cards) since they don't have a fixed term.

Setting up a loan

  • Name and type.
  • Original amount — what you originally borrowed.
  • Current balance — what's left to pay today.
  • Interest rate (optional).
  • Minimum payment and due day.
  • Term (optional) — how many months the loan runs.
  • Default bank account for payments.

Tracking payoff progress

Each loan shows a progress bar based on how much of the original amount you've paid off, plus an estimated number of months remaining based on your minimum payment and interest rate. When a loan is fully paid, mark it paid off and it moves to its own section — out of your way, but still on record.
