Bills are templates, not transactions

A bill in Bill Management is a template for something you pay regularly — rent, a subscription, insurance, a utility. It's not tied to any single cycle; instead, you load it into whichever cycles it applies to with one click.

Setting up a bill

  • Name and amount — what it's called and how much it costs.
  • FrequencyMonthly or Yearly.
  • Due day (1–31) — and for yearly bills, a due month too.
  • Paid from (optional) — a default bank account or credit card, so the confirm-payment dialog is pre-filled every time.

Loading bills into a cycle

From the Bills panel on your dashboard, hit Load from Management. Finlo calculates each bill's due date inside the currently selected cycle — monthly bills anchor to the cycle's month, yearly bills use their stored due day/month — and only pulls in the ones that actually fall within the cycle's date range.

Confirming a payment

When a bill comes due, mark it paid from the Bills panel. This creates a real transaction dated to the due date. If you pay it with a credit card, the card's balance goes up by the payment amount automatically — no need to update it by hand.
